KWFS (branded as NewsTalk 1290) is a radio station serving the Wichita Falls area with a news/talk radio format. It broadcasts on AM frequency 1290 kHz and is under ownership of Townsquare Media.

Programming on NewsTalk 1290 includes Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Neal Boortz, Michael Savage, Coast to Coast AM and more.

Local programming includes Joe Tom White's "Rise and Shine Show", which airs weekdays from 6:00-8:00. The show is co-hosted by Mike Campbell and Mike Hendren. Rise and Shine launched on KWFS-AM in 1993. Joe Tom White has been a radio personality in Wichita Falls since 1959, beginning his career at KWFT-AM 620. Mike Campbell has co-hosted since the shows inception. White and Campbell spent a short time on-air together at KGTM 990 (formerly KNIN-AM) in the mid-1980s and from 1985 to 1990 hosted "Country Morning" on KAUZ TV-6. Mike Hendren joined the "Rise and Shine" show in August 2001 as a fill-in producer but began taking on a larger role on the program in 2002. Hendren also serves as the station's Program Director. It is now the longest-running locally produced daily program on air in Wichita Falls. KWFS-AM 1290 is the oldest, continuously broadcasting radio station in the city, having been on-air since 1940.
