History

KTAM started its Hispanic programming after competitor KBMA "La Fabulosa" was sold to Clear Channel Communications in 2001, changed format to Classic Rock, and became KNFX-FM. Some of the former KBMA staff were hired by KTAM.

Prior to the format change, KTAM broadcast an oldies music format.

There is also an Online Radio Station with the same Call Letters K-TAM which plays a variety of Rock Music, Metal, Industrial and other genres based on listener requests. The online iteration of K-TAM is not affiliated with the one mentioned above from Bryan Texas and was created based on content and a location within the Trion Worlds video game Defiance. The online radio has since expanded to follow other games and cover other topics in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy realms of content.

The Online K-TAM Radio, which references the fictitious frequency of 94 FM, is listed as Not Safe For Work, playing unedited music, colorfully inappropriate fake commercials and openly allowing people to swear on air during their live talk shows.
