KPTO (1440 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a format. Licensed to Pocatello, Idaho, USA, the station serves the Pocatello area. The station is currently owned by Main Street Broadcasting, LLC[1]

History

The station went on the air as KBET on 01/25/2002[2]

On December 18, 2008, radio industry website 100000watts.com reported that KPTO had gone silent the preceding day, though no explanation was given for this.

On May 29, 2009, the Fifth District Court in Washington County, UT appointed a receiver to take over KPTO-AM for US Capital, Incorporated of Boulder CO. The investment company foreclosed on Legecy Media, the owners of KPTO and several other stations. At this time the station remains silent. The receiver sold the station to Ted Austin in a District Court approved sale which is conditioned upon the FCC renewing the station's license.
