KMHX started on 104.1 FM, Maverick Media purchased country station KRPQ ("Q105") (104.9 FM) and the intellectual property of KMHX from Results Radio in March 2006. Maverick Media moved the HOT AC format of KMHX on to the stronger 104.9 as they already owned a Country Station, Froggy 92.9. By 2011, the station moved to adult contemporary from adult top 40 according to the Mediabase reports. In August 2012, KMHX returned to Hot Adult Contemporary.

KMHX broadcast the syndicated Bob and Sheri show in the morning 5am to 9am, Market vet Katie in the midday 9am-2pm, Bay Area radio native Danny Wright in the afternoon 2pm - 7pm and "The John Tesh Radio Show" 7pm - midnight.
