KMGO (98.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to serve Centerville, Iowa, USA. The station is owned by KMGO, Inc. The station currently advertises itself as "Iowa's Country 98.7 KMGO." They appear to have retired the "KMGO 99 Country" slogan.
KMGO broadcasts a country music format.[1] The station was assigned the KMGO call sign by the Federal Communications Commission.[2] At the top of every hour, KMGO airs the syndicated Fox News Radio updates. At thirty minutes past the hour they air a syndicated Fox Sports Radio update.
KMGO-FM broadcasts on 98.7 MHz from a tower at Rathbun, Iowa. The signal covers much of Southern Iowa and parts of Northern Missouri.[3]
KMGO currently has a construction permit to relocate its tower and transmitter from Rathbun to a new site in rural Monroe County, Iowa. The effective radiated power would drop from 100,000 watts to 94,000 watts. However, the move would provide the Des Moines area with a significant signal and the station would move one step up to a Class 0 station. It would also strengthen its signal across Southern Iowa and Northern Missouri.[4]
Current programming
Weekday programming includes "The Morning Party with Russ W. Ocker", Mike O'Conner on mid-days, and "The Edwin Brand Show" in afternoon drive.
KMGO began airing the Central Iowa Metro League (CIML) high school football game of the week on Friday nights in 2010.[5] Each week, Marty Tirrell calls the "Game of the Week" from the CIML teams. During the broadcast, updates from around the state are given.
KMGO began airing "Calling All Sports", syndicated from Sports By Line in late 2010. The show, hosted by Marty Tirrell and Bob Ryan, airs live on Saturday nights. KMGO also aired Minnesota Vikings games live for the 2010-2011 NFL season. These broadcasts were syndicated from the "Vikings Radio Network" and "The FAN Radio Network" through flagship station KFAN-AM 1130.
KMGO provides live coverage for the Indian Hills Community College Warriors men's basketball team. Kevin Pink leads the live broadcast. [6]

The station used to air "The Foxworthy Countdown" hosted by Jeff Foxworthy every Sunday night.
