K-196 is a 29-mile (47 km) highway that runs from I-135 just south of Newton, east to K-254, just east of El Dorado, Kansas. The highway runs along the south border the town of Whitewater and bypasses Potwin to the south. The highway runs through Harvey County and Butler County.
Route description
K-196 begins at I-135 exit 25[1] and begins heading due east. South of Whitewater, it begins curving more southeast, until, west of Potwin, it begins going due south. It then ends at K-254 west of El Dorado, near I-35/Kansas Turnpike.
