Kévin Bru (born 12 December 1988 in Paris) is a French-born Mauritian footballer who plays for Levski Sofia in the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group.

Career

Bru trained as a youth in the INF Clairefontaine academy. He then moved to Rennes. During his time there, he went on separate loans to Châteauroux and Clermont Foot, and only made 2 senior appearances for Rennes. On 7 January 2010, Dijon FCO signed the attacking midfielder from Rennes until June 2011. In January 2011, after terminating his contract early with Dijon, Bru signed with fellow Ligue 2 team US Boulogne on a two-year contract. Despite visiting the infrastructures of the Bulgarian club Levski Sofia in the summer 2012, Kevin Bru finally decided to stay in France by joining league 2 side Istres thus giving up on hopes of playing in Europa League next season.[1]

International

Bru has made several appearances for the French U-19 team, but has never represented France with the senior team. Due to his Mauritian descent, the opportunity arose for him to represent Mauritius internationally, which he took in 2011. He earned his first cap for Mauritius on 5 June 2011, in their AFCON qualifying match against DR Congo.[2]

Personal

Kévin's parents are from Mauritius. His brother Jonathan is also a football player, he is currently a free agent after being released by A-League side Melbourne Victory. Jonathan also represents Mauritius internationally with Mauritius national football team.
