Kégham Atmadjian

Kegham Mihran Atmadjian (aka Sema, November 18, 1910, Bafra, Ottoman Turkey - May 19, 1940, France) was a French-Armenian poet and editor, member of French resistance.

Biography

Being a survivor of Armenian Genocide, Atmadjian lived in orphanages in Turkey and Aleppo. In 1929 he moved to Paris, where among with Missak Manouchian he published "Jank" (Effort) Armenian cultural magazine. In 1935-1937 he published "Mshagooyt" (Culture) Armenian journal. He was an author of poems, plays, short stories and articles. In 1940 he was killed during World War II. Armenian poetess and writer Mari Atmadjian was his sister and wrote memoirs about Sema.
