Julie St. Claire (born June 10, 1970 in Geneva, New York), is an American actress, director and producer.[1]
Early life
St. Claire moved from New York to California with her family in 1979. She competed in the U.S. Gymnastic Federation as a child, and also showed horses (both Western and English).
Career
In 1982 she debuted on the NBC television series Silver Spoons, portraying Ricky Schroder's girlfriend, which led to numerous guest appearances and film roles,[2] including 1986's Sid & Nancy. The Southern California Motion Picture Council awarded her the Bronze Halo in 1983 for Best Up & Coming Young Actress; she also received a nomination for the Young Artist Award. Her first regular television role came on Personal & Confidential. Following high school, after a year of attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (West) in Pasadena on a scholarship, in 1990 she starred as Tawny Richards on the soap opera series Santa Barbara.[3] In 1987 she was nominated for "Exceptional Performance by a Young Actress, Guest Starring in a Television, Comedy or Drama Series" for a 1986 appearance on The Judge. She also appeared in a Season Two episode of Freddy's Nightmares in 1989, playing a young babysitter in "Do You Know Where The Kids Are?"
Later work
After Santa Barbara and along with many more film and television roles, St. Claire went on to star as Maria in UPN's A.J.'s Time Travelers and currently recurs as Marla Antoni on Lincoln Heights. She married actor Patrick Robert Smith in 1995. St. Claire co-produced and directed The Legend of Cryin' Ryan (1997), winning Best Director of a Feature Film at the RiverRun International Film Festival in September 1998 (where the film also won Best Picture). Julie was nominated for "Best Guest Actress in a Cable Series" for her role as "Joy" on Any Day Now in the 1998/99 fall season. The episode "Making Music with the Wrong Man" was written by Lincoln Heights executive producer Kathleen McGhee-Anderson, who handpicked St. Claire for the part.
Personal details
St. Claire lives outside of Los Angeles with husband Smith and their son. She is a member of the "Hollywood Knights" celebrity basketball team hall of fame and has been credited as "Julie Capone".[4] She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, West in Pasadena along with classmate Jeremy Davies almost 15 years prior to her TV son on Lincoln Heights, actor Robert Adamson.
