Julianne Michelle (born September 5, 1984) is an American film and television actor.[1] She has appeared in more than 23 productions, beginning in 1992 when she was 8 years old.

Personal life

Julianne Michelle began her acting career when she was discovered by a producer at the age of 5. She was born in Teaneck, New Jersey in 1987 and lived in New Jersey and New York City. She lived as a child in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, and Las Vegas, and was homeschooled.[2] She attended Marymount High School on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and Columbia University and received a B.A. from Marymount Manhattan College at the age 18 in 2006 with a 3.8 average, and a Certificate in Financial Management from Cornell University.[citation needed] She will receive her Masters Degree from Columbia University.

Career

Julianne Michelle, 26, is winner "Best Actress" Audience Choice Awards for her role as Samantha Winston on the feature film "Awakened"at the NYC Indie Film Festival on Oct. 20, 2013. Michelle also won the "Best Actress" Award for her role as Terry in the feature film The House Is Burning, also starring Melissa Leo and directed by Holger Ernst. This film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. For this same role she received the Fencer Statuette from The Flash Film Foundation's Young Film Festival in Poland. Michelle was nominated three times for Best Actress by the Youth in Film Young Artist Awards. In 1991 she was nominated for her guest appearance on Who's The Boss?;[3] in 1993 for "Best Actress Under Age 10" for the movie Family Prayers;[4] and in 1998 for "Best Actress in a TV Series" for the 1998 TV movie Bus No. 9.[5]

In its 2001 WB TV special, Teen People Magazine named Michelle "One of 20 Teens Who Would Change the World".[2][6][7] She is host committee chair for the Children at Heart Celebrity Auction and Dinner to benefit the children of Chernobyl with Chairman Steven Spielberg.[8][9]

Michelle appeared once[10] on the Di Palma Forum, a televised talk celebrity panel which her father, Joseph Di Palma, established at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The forum features celebrities discussing issues of national interest, and is televised four times a year as The Di Palma Forum at UNLV on PBS TV KLVX.[2][11] Michelle hosts the national TV talk show The Di Palma Forum as of January 24, 2011.

Her television career includes episodes of Who's The Boss?, Phenom, Ellen, Roseanne, and The Queen Latifah Show. She has starred in a number of films, including I Don't Buy Kisses Anymore, Street Knight, and Down the P.C.H.. She appeared in Shannon's Rainbow, Horrorween, and Sweet Lorraine, and had a cameo role as Natasha in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Julianne Michelle stars as Samantha Winston in the 2013 feature film, Awakened. Awakened won "Best Narrated Feature" Award at the NYC Indie Film Festival and "Best Feature Producer" Award to Julianne Michelle and Joycelyn Engle at the LA Femme International Film Festival in Los Angeles -both on Oct 20, 2013 NYCIFF (NYC Indie Film Festival) awards Julianne Michelle with "Best Actress" Audience Choice Award on Oct. 20, 2013 for "Awakened".
