Juan Carlos Escobar (born October 30, 1982) is a Colombian football defensive midfielder who currently plays for Alianza Petrolera. He has played for the Colombian national team 2007 against Panama where Colombia won 4-0 and Colombia's 2-1 victory over Chile where he was seen as the best player on the field. He recently has been transferred from Deportes Tolima in the Copa Mustang to FC Krylia Sovetov Samara[1] along with fellow Colombian and Tolima team mate Carlos Quintero. In late July 2009, Escobar returned to the Copa Mustang to play with Cúcuta Deportivo. In 19 October 2011 he is released from Krilya Sovetov.[2]
