Joyce Hyser is an American actress.
Career
Hyser appeared in various films in the early 1980s, the last of which — Just One of the Guys (1985) — achieved some cult status. She then mainly guest-starred in television series, including a recurring role in L.A. Law as Jimmy Smits's girlfriend. Hyser was interested in the role of Dr. Melfi on The Sopranos, but the role went to Lorraine Bracco.
In the early 1990s, Hyser stopped appearing on television in favor of once more making movies and screenwriting.
More recently, Hyser has become a spokeswoman for the Harold Robinson Foundation which provides a free summer camp for inner city and underprivileged children.
In 2011, Hyser appeared in a small role in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as a woman who masquerades as a man, a role she described as an homage to Just One Of The Guys[citation needed].
Hyser also has a role in the upcoming Haylie Duff movie, The Wedding Pact.[citation needed]

Joyce Hyser was featured prominently in the music video for "I Can Dream About You" by Dan Hartman receiving much airtime on MTV in the mid '80s. In the video, Dan Hartman is a bartender pining for a beautiful customer, Joyce Hyser.
She was also featured in the music video for "Pincushion" by ZZ Top, a single from their 1994 album Antenna.
