Joshua Joseph Brian "Josh" McQuoid (born 15 December 1989) is an English-born Northern Ireland international footballer who plays for AFC Bournemouth as a striker.

Club career

Bournemouth

McQuoid came through the ranks at Bournemouth to make his senior début in May 2007 against Doncaster Rovers, coming on as a substitute for Brett Pitman.

He scored his first senior goal during a 4–0 win over Port Vale on 1 May 2010. Due to the lack of firepower since the departure of striker Brett Pitman, and injuries to other strikers, McQuoid adopted the role of striker and scored five goals in his first five games as striker.[citation needed]

In November 2010, he scored hat-tricks in consecutive games. The first came against Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup, the second a week later in the league against bottom of the table Walsall.

Millwall

McQuoid signed for Millwall on loan on 25 November 2010, and completed his permanent move on 5 January 2011 for an undisclosed fee thought to be around £550,000. [2] McQuoid scored his first goal for Millwall in a 4–0 demolition of Preston North End. The goal was subsequently voted by fans as Millwall's goal of the season for 2010–11.

Burnley

McQuoid joined Burnley on loan on 20 January 2012 on a 93 day loan period. McQuoid had previously played under Burnley manager Eddie Howe at Bournemouth. McQuoid scored his first goal for Burnley on 9 April 2012 against Doncaster in a 2-1 win, his first since joining Burnley on loan from Millwall.

Bournemouth

McQuoid rejoined AFC Bournemouth 30 May 2012 on a three-year contract in a swap deal with Scott Malone joining Millwall in the process.

International career

He was called up to the senior Northern Ireland side for the first time for a friendly against Morocco and won a penalty in the dying stages of the match, converted by Rory Patterson to earn his side a draw.[3]
