Josh Kroenke

Josh Kroenke (born May 7, 1980[1]) is an American heir and President of both the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche.

Biography

Early life

His father is Stan Kroenke and his mother, Ann Walton Kroenke.[2][3] Through his mother, he is a member of the Walton family, the richest family in the world, who own Wal-Mart.[2] He has a sister, Whitney Kroenke Burditt. He grew up in Columbia, Missouri and attended Rock Bridge High School.[4] He graduated from the University of Missouri, where he received a full basketball scholarship.[4] He admitted to being bullied in college because of his family background, but said it prepared him for public life.[2]

Career

After college, he did a six-month internship for the National Basketball Association in New York City and later worked as an underwriter for the Global Real Estate Group of Lehman Brothers.[2][4] He now serves as the President of both the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche.[2][3][4][5]

He volunteers for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.[2] He supports the Todd Peglow Memorial Scholarship Fund at the University of Missouri and the Playing for Change Foundation. He became a non-executive director of Arsenal in 2013, in which his father, Stan Kroenke, is a major shareholder.

Personal life

He enjoys reading Harry Potter, watching Entourage, and having breakfast at McDonald's.[2] He lives in Denver, Colorado for work.[2]
