Josh Ailaomai (born 17 June 1991) is a New Zealand professional rugby league footballer for the Sydney Roosters of the National Rugby League. He primarily plays prop and second-row.

Playing career

Born in Lower Hutt, New Zealand, Ailaomai played his junior football for the Te Aroha Eels. He attended St Bernard's College and was awarded the Sportsman of the Year award in 2007. He was then signed by the Newcastle Knights. He played for the Knights' NYC team from 2008 to 2011.[1]

In August 2011, Ailaomai signed a 2-year contract with the Sydney Roosters starting in 2012, to re-join his former Knights coach Brian Smith.[2]

On 23 August 2013, Ailaomai signed a 1-year contract with the St. George Illawarra Dragons starting in 2014.[3]

He is yet to make an appearance in the National Rugby League.

Representative career

Ailaomai has played for the New Zealand U16's team.
