Joseph Vazhackan (Malayalam: ജോസഫ് വാഴക്കന്‍) is an Indian politician from Kerala. He belongs to Indian National Congress party, the largest and one of the oldest democratically-operating political parties in the world. He is currently serving as a Member of Legislative Assembly of Kerala from Muvattupuzha and Member of All India Congress Committee.

Personal life

Joseph Vazhackan was born to VR Augusthy and Annakutty Augusthy, Vazhackamalayil family at Ramapuram (near Pala), Kottayam district. His father was also active in Indian National Congress party. He is married to Leelamma Joseph from Mulackal family at Changanacherry in 1991 and blessed with two daughters Shruthi and Laya.

Political life

Joseph Vazhackan came to public platform by leading the student’s movements in his school days and became Kerala Students Union (KSU) State President.
