Joseph S. Saladino (born 1961/1962[1]) is a member of the New York State Assembly and a former broadcast journalist. He represents the 12th Assembly district which includes Massapequa, Massapequa Park, Farmingdale and part of Levittown.

He was first elected in a special election on March 9, 2004.[2] To date, he has been the prime sponsor of one piece of legislation that became law, a bill making the striped bass the official saltwater fish of New York. He also helped push for Megan's Law, which eventually was passed.

Saladino is a lifetime resident of Massapequa. He graduated from Massapequa High School in 1979.[3] He completed his bachelor's degree and master's degree at the New York Institute of Technology. Saladino worked as a news anchor and broadcaster on Long Island, at radio stations WNYG and WALK, and television stations WLIW and News 12. He then became Executive Assistant for the Town of Hempstead. Before his election to the Assembly he was Director of Operations for the Town of Oyster Bay.[4]

His father is Joseph J. Saladino, a former New York Supreme Court Justice who died in 2000 at the age of 75.[5]
