Joseph Maria Koudelka (December 8, 1852 – June 24, 1921) was the second Roman Catholic bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Superior, in Superior, Wisconsin.[1]
Born in Bohemia (now Austria),[2][3] Koudelka was ordained to the Roman Catholic priesthood was November 29, 1875, for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, in Cleveland, Ohio. On November 29, 1907, Pope Pius X appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Cleveland Diocese and he was ordained a bishop on February 25, 1908. On June 24, 1911 Pope Pius X appointed him auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.[4] On April 6, 1913, Pope Pius X appointed Bishop Koudelka bishop of the Superior Diocese, where he died.[5]
