Joseph Lindsay (born 13 November 1858) was a Scottish footballer who played for Dumbarton, Rangers, Renton and the Scotland national team.

With Dumbarton he won the Scottish Cup in 1883. He won a total of 8 caps for Scotland between 1880 and 1886, scoring 6 goals.
