José Pedraza (athlete)

José Pedraza Zúñiga a.k.a. "El Sargento Pedraza" (September 19, 1937 in La Mojonera, Michoacán de Ocampo – May 25, 1998 in Mexico City, Distrito Federal) was a race walker from Mexico, and an army sergeant. He was the first Mexican athlete to win an Olympic medal in track and field. He inspired other Mexican race walkers who won Gold medals in future Olympics.
