José Félix Díaz (born January 16, 1980) is a Florida Republican politician who serves as the District 116 representative in the Florida House of Representatives. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, the son of Cuban exiles he grew up in the Westchester area. He was first elected in 2010 and defeated fellow incumbent Ana Rivas Logan in the Republican Primary in 2012.[1]

Díaz is an Attorney in the firm Akerman Senterfitt in Miami, where he specializes in land use and entitlement. Before beginning his legal career, Diaz was a contestant on The Apprentice with Donald Trump. He took his Bachelor's degree at the University of Miami and his Juris Doctorate from Columbia University Law School.

Family

Díaz is married to his wife Therese and together they have one child named Dominick. Díaz and his wife currently reside in Miami, Florida.[2]

Education

In 2002, Díaz obtained his BA in English/ Political Science from the University of Miami and in 2005, he received his JD from Columbia University Law School.[2]

Religion

Díaz is Catholic.[2]
