Jonkowo [jɔnˈkɔvɔ] (German Jonkendorf) is a village in Olsztyn County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Jonkowo.[1] It lies approximately 14 km (9 mi) west of the regional capital Olsztyn.
While traditionally Prussian, with the Second Peace of Thorn in 1466 the area became part of the Kingdom of Poland until 1772; 1772-1945 Kingdom of Prussia and Germany (East Prussia).
The village has a population of 1,500.
