Jon Kempin (born April 8, 1993 in Overland Park, Kansas) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Sporting Kansas City.

Career

Professional

On August 31, 2010, at the age of 17, Jonathan Kempin signed his first professional contract,[1] making him Sporting Kansas City's first homegrown player.[2] Kempin dressed for his first professional game on October 23, 2010 as a substitute in the final game of the 2010 season against San Jose. He made his debut on May 29, 2012 in a 3-2 win over Orlando City in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.[3]

Kempin was loaned to Orlando City for the 2013 season.[4]

International

Kempin has represented the United States at the U-17, U-18, and U-20 level. He has made 2 appearances for both the U-18 and the U-20 team up to this point.

Personal

Kempin studied at Blue Valley North High School in Overland Park, Kansas.
