Jon Cooksey
Jon Cooksey is a writer/producer living and working in Vancouver. He was co-creator of “The Collector (TV series)”, on which heserved as executive producer, showrunner and head writer, and has worked on numerous TV series since, including "The Best Years", "Shattered", "Primeval: New World" and "Arctic Air". He’s also working on environmentally-themed projects in a variety of other media, reflecting his deep desire to have a habitable planet to retire on. First among them was the theatrical docu-comedy How to Boil a Frog, on which he acted as writer, director, producer and court jester. A full resume can be found on Jon's LinkedIn page.
As a writer, Jon has won Humanitas, Gemini and Cable Ace awards, and been nominated for a prime-time Emmy. “The Collector” won a Leo Award for Best Series, and was nominated for Best Series at the Monte Carlo International Film & TV Festival, based on its success overseas, and "How to Boil a Frog" won numerous awards from many festivals in various categories. A native of Los Angeles, Jon had a long career in Hollywood before moving to Vancouver; he became a dual citizen in July, 2003.
