John Winfield Bonser

Rt Hon. Sir John Winfield Bonser PC (24 October 1847 – 9 December 1914) was a British barrister of Lincoln's Inn and colonial lawyer.
Bonser was educated at Ashby Grammar School, Loughborough Grammar School, Heath Grammar School and Christ's College, Cambridge and Lincoln's Inn.
He was Attorney-General of the Straits Settlements, 1883–1893; Chief Justice of the Straits Settlements, 1893; and Chief Justice of Ceylon 1893–1902.
He was knighted in 1894, and appointed a Privy Councillor from 1901, where he was a Member of Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.[1]
