John Adrian Pienaar is BBC Radio 5 Live's Chief Political Correspondent.
Early life
Pienaar was born on 2 October 1956 to Eric and Johanna Pienaar. He was educated at Ravenswood School in Bromley and then studied at Highbury College.[1]
Career
Pienaar began his career at the South London Press, before becoming an Old Bailey correspondent and then writing an angling column, even though he himself had never angled.[2] In the early 1990s, he was working as a political correspondent for The Guardian, working in the Press Gallery of the House of Commons.
Personal life
Pienaar married Denise Walsh in 1980 and they have a son and a daughter. They later divorced and Pienaar married Penny Davies with whom he has two children.
