John M. Newman

John M. Newman spent 21 years with the U.S. Army Intelligence.[1] He is on the faculty at the University of Maryland.

Career

Newman served in the Armed Forces in Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, and China.[2] He served as an attaché in China.[1] He served as executive assistant to the director of the National Security Agency (NSA).[3] He is a faculty member of the University of Maryland, University College, where he teaches courses in Soviet, Chinese Communist, East Asian, and Vietnam War history, as well as Sino-Soviet and U.S.-Soviet relations.[2]

He advised Oliver Stone during production of the movie JFK.[4] He was one of the experts called upon to testify before the JFK Assassination Records Review Board.[5] He has been a critic of the 9/11 Commission Report.[6]

Books

Newman is the author of JFK and Vietnam: Deception, Intrigue, and the Struggle for Power (1992) and Oswald and the CIA: The Documented Truth About the Unknown Relationship Between the U.S. Government and the Alleged Killer of JFK (2008) [1995].
