John Konesky is an American guitarist who is known primarily for his association with Tenacious D. He plays electric guitar with Tenacious D, and has toured with them through North America, Europe and Australia. He played the UK's Reading and Leeds festivals with Tenacious D in 2008. He also played electric guitar in Kyle Gass's side project "Trainwreck" under the alias John Bartholomew Shredman. Trainwreck even wrote a song named after his character and his shredding abilities. Konesky also briefly appeared in 2006's Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny. He is also currently starring in a web show entitled "Guitarings" with Kyle produced by Fret12.com.
Konesky co-wrote the song "The Metal" which was featured on Guitar Hero III.
He can be seen on Tenacious D's 2008 concert video and documentary The Complete Master Works 2.
Konesky graduated from Hilliard Davidson High School in 1999.[1] He has played guitar for over 20 years; he started playing at the age of 9.[1]
