John J. Tallmadge was mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Biography
Tallmadge was born on January 10, 1818, in Claverack, New York.[1] He moved to Milwaukee in 1855.[2] Tallmadge died on October 16, 1873, in Summit, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.
Career
Tallmadge was mayor of Milwaukee from 1865 to 1866 as a member of the Democratic Party. He unsuccessfully ran for governor of Wisconsin in 1867, losing to incumbent Lucius Fairchild.
