John G. Nichols

John Greg Nichols (1813 1898) was a businessman, builder, and politician.

He lived in the first brick house to be built in Los Angeles, California, and was the third Mayor of Los Angeles from 1852 to 1853 and again from 1856 to 1859.

His son was the first American to be born in the city, and he was the first mayor to expand the city.

John G. Nichols is interred in Angelus-Rosedale Cemetery, Los Angeles.
