Dr. John Fredrick Demartini (born November 25, 1954), is an American researcher, author, educator and public speaker in human behavior.

He founded the Demartini Institute[1]and has trademarked certain methodologies in human development: the primary two being the Demartini Method and the Demartini Value Determination Process and the applications of these processes in the seven areas of life: Financial, Physical, Mental, Vocational, Spiritual, Family and Social. He has completed numerous interviews and appears in other media such as the following publications: O Magazine;[2] Huffington Post;[3]

Demartini has also appeared in several movies, the most popular being The Secret in 2006 with Rhonda Byrne alongside John Gray, Jack Canfield and Michael Beckwith amongst others. He has also appeared in several documentaries and he has shared the screen with Hugh Jackman, Ringo Starr and David Copperfield in Peter Rodger’s 2009 film exploring God, titled Oh My God,[4] and in the 2005 movie One: the Movie from Ward Powers examining the meaning of life.

He is the author of nine internationally published titles translated into 28 different languages, including The Breakthrough Experience,[5] Inspired Destiny, Riches Within, Stress to Success, How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven, The Gratitude Effect, Wisdom of the Oracle, Count Your Blessings,[6] The Heart of Love[7] and You Can Have an Amazing Life in Just 60 Days.

Early life

Born in Houston, Texas, on Thanksgiving Day 1954, Dr. Demartini was one of two children. Born with a birth defect he had to endure hand and leg braces early in his life and at the age of seven he was told by his first grade teacher that he had a learning disability and would never read, write or communicate and not go far in life. Diagnosed with dyslexia and a speech impediment he struggled at school and at fourteen he was a high school dropout, living on the streets and panhandling for food to survive. He moved to Hawaii at seventeen to surf and lived on the beach and there he contracted severe strychnine poisoning and almost died.

Attending a yoga course by Paul Bragg altered his life and he then began the process of rebuilding his life.[8]

Career

Dr. John Demartini first studied at Wharton Junior College, Wharton Texas 1973 – 1975 where he achieved an Associate’s Degree, then a Bachelor of Science in Biology at University of Houston: 1975 - 1978 and finally a Doctorate degree in Chiropractic in 1982 from the Texas Chiropractic College, Pasadena, Texas where he graduated in 1982 at the top of his class with Magna Cum Laude.

Dr. Demartini then built up a successful chiropractic clinic in Houston Texas whilst completing clinical studies in the area to further understand human potential and development.

Dr. Demartini speaks at over 400 seminar-talks a year in over fifty countries. He developed and coined a methodology known as 'The Demartini Method'. Derived from a study of Quantum Physics, 'The Demartini Method' is now being studied in a number of Universities and presented to psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, health professionals and prison workers all over the world.

As a presenter, Dr. Demartini has shared the stage with such noted speakers as Stephen Covey, Donald Trump, Dr Donald Beck, Les Brown, Mark Victor Hansen, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Dr Patch Adams and many others.

Personal life

In 1983 he married Denise Roffal - the marriage ended in divorce in 1991. The marriage produced three children. Demartini married his second wife Athena Starwoman in 1992; she died in December 2004 from breast cancer.

Honours and Awards

In 1982 Demartini received the Salutatorian Award and the Special Achievement Award in Clinical Practice from The Texas Chiropractic College.

He was an invited guest at the Waldzell Conference in Austria on social transformation and inspiration (September 2008).[9]

Recipient of the top honour at the Annual (XL) Extraordinary Lives Awards held in Singapore (September 2008).[10]
