John C. Brodhead

John Curtis Brodhead (October 27, 1780 – January 2, 1859) was a United States Representative from New York.

Born in Modena, New York, Brodhead attended the district schools. He was engaged in mercantile and agricultural pursuits, was Sheriff of Ulster County from 1825–1828.

Brodhead was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-second Congress (March 4, 1831 – March 3, 1833). He was not a candidate for reelection in 1832.

Brodhead was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-fifth Congress (March 4, 1837 – March 3, 1839). He served as chairman of the Committee on Expenditures in the Department of the Navy. He declined to be a candidate for renomination in 1838, resuming his mercantile and agricultural pursuits. He died in Modena, New York, January 2, 1859, and was interred in Modena Rural Cemetery.
