John Brooke (priest)

The Very Rev John Charles Herries Brooke (June 10, 1873 – June 10, 1951)[1] was Dean of Cape Town from 1932 to 1948.[2]
Educated at Keble College, Oxford and ordained in 1899,[3] he began his career as a Curate at Henley-on-Thames. After this he was Precentor at St. George's Cathedral, Cape Town then Rector of Rondebosch until 1925. After a further incumbency at Yeoville he moved to the Deanery at Cape Town
