From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Johan Fredrik Breda Storm (24 November 1836 – 1920) was a Norwegian linguist.
He was born in Lom, but grew up in Rendalen, Lardal and after his father's 1850 death in Christiania. He was a brother of historian Gustav Storm.[1]
He was a professor of English and Roman philology at the University of Christiania for almost four decades, from 1873 to 1912. His work Norsk Retskrivning in two volumes (1904 and 1906) was a contribution to the language disputes in Norway.[1][2]
Storm was decorated Commander of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav in 1904.[1]
