Jinja Airport (IATA: JIN, ICAO: HUJI) is an airport in Uganda. It is a small civilian and military airport that serves the town of Jinja in Jinja District, Busoga, Eastern Region. It sits adjacent to the Uganda Senior Command and Staff College of the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), at Kimaka, a suburb of Jinja. The geographic coordinates of this airport are 00°27′09″N 33°11′35″E / 0.45250°N 33.19306°E / 0.45250; 33.19306. It is located in eastern Uganda, approximately 94 kilometres (58 mi), by air, east of Entebbe International Airport, the country’s largest civilian and military airport.[1]

Jinja Airport is one of 46 airports in the country.[2] It is one of thirteen upcountry airports that are administered by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.[3]

Facilities

The airport is situated 3,840 feet (1,170 m) above sea level and has a runway which 1,494 metres (4,902 ft) in length.[4]
