Jingbao Expressway
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Jingbao Expressway (Chinese: 京包高速公路; pinyin: Jīngbāo Gāosùgōnglù) is a new expressway due for completion in late 2009.
Once complete, it will be the first full expressway to link central Beijing, alongside the Badaling Expressway, directly to the city of Baotou in Inner Mongolia. It passes through the major urban areas of Zhangjiakou, Datong, and Hohhot.
It will ease traffic on China National Highway 110, which was previously the only trunk road headed for Baotou from the national capital. Currently all sections of the highway have been opened to traffic, with the exception of a small 6-kilometer portion within Beijing.[1]
