Pastor Jim Tolle is the Pastor of El Camino Metro www.elcaminometro.com, a new church in Los Angeles which offers services in both Spanish and English. Jim began El Camino Metro in February 2013 after being asked to start more churches by the leadership of The Church On The Way, where he pastored the Hispanic congregation, for the previous 12 years, building it into one of the largest congregations in the United States. Trained and mentored by the well-known pastor, Dr. Jack W. Hayford, Jim Tolle and his staff have also started 40 other churches. Also, Jim Tolle is among one of the community leaders in the city of Los Angeles who leads the Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.
After his graduation from Life Pacific University in 1982 with a degree in theology, Jim Tolle was ordained a pastor in the Four Square denomination, and has served in numerous capacities during his ministry. In addition to having pastored english speaking Church On The Way, he has been a church planter in Colombia and Argentina, served as an overseer of churches in the Southern California region and functioned as the International Director of a global Christian organization. Pastor Jim's passion leads him to train pastors in both the national and international arenas, where he is frequently called upon to speak at leadership conferences. Jim is also a well known radio host with his daily spanish language radio show "Respuestas" which airs twice daily reaching millions throughout the U.S. on Radio Nueva Vida.
With Pastor Jim's growing spiritual influence in Los Angeles, he is often called upon to share his insights with the media as well as City Hall. His influence has also extended to Washington D.C., where he has testified before Congress.[1] He serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE),[2] the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Council (NHCLC),[3] who has recently given him the "Pastor of the Year" Award,[4] and numerous other boards.
In his early adult years, Jim Tolle served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was an entrepreneur, starting a number of successful small businesses. He has made many radio and television appearances and has received numerous honorary doctorates.
Pastor Jim and his wife live in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles near their sons and their families.
