Jim Saia

Jim Saia is the men's head basketball coach at California State University San Marcos.[1]

Coaching career

Prior to his appointment as head basketball coach at CSUSM, he was the head coach at Fresno Pacific University, an assistant coach at Citrus College in the 2006-07 season and the interim head coach at the USC between 2004 and 2005. Additionally, he was an assistant coach at UCLA, Columbia College, Fresno State, Indiana State and Cal.

In his seven years as an assistant coach at UCLA, many of his players went on to play for NBA teams, including Baron Davis, Earl Watson, Jason Kapono, and Matt Barnes.

In the 2012-13 season, Saia led the Cougars to their first-ever appearance in the NAIA Division I National Championship Tournament.

College career

Saia played college basketball at Chapman University, Cal Poly and College of Marin.

High school career

Saia prepped at Sir Francis Drake High in San Anselmo, California.

Personal

Jim and his wife, Stacey, have two daughters and a son.[2]
