Jillian Lee Wheeler (born May 25, 1991 in St. Charles, Illinois) is an American singer-songwriter and actress currently residing in Somerville, Massachusetts. She is most notable for portraying Sara Markum in the 2003 film, Mystic River. Jillian attended Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, where she studied television and film. In 2010 she transferred to Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts where she began pursuing a degree in Communications but ultimately switched to Environmental Studies. Jillian graduated in 2012 and currently works as a Video Consultant for Smart Destinations.
Acting career
Wheeler began acting at the age of twelve in a small theater production of Annie, directed by Lynn Wunderli. In 2001, Wheeler made her debut at the San Jose Repertory Theater in the play By The Bog of Cats alongside Holly Hunter. Her role in the play earned her a Dean Goodman Choice award for Supporting Actress. She also appeared in another play The Mandrake Root with actress Lynn Redgrave.
Her film credits include the 2003 film Mystic River, the animated film Osmosis Jones and the horror film Little Erin Merryweather.
Music career
Wheeler has released three recordings. In 2003, she released an EP titled Test of Time at the age of twelve. A year later she released "Attention" and her more recent recording is titled Beautiful Things. Jillian has worked with Hilary Duff, JoJo, Aaron Carter and many others. She has performed the National Anthem for the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics. She has performed at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Philadelphia, the FleetCenter in Boston, the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut, and many other locations.
