Jiaozhou (region)

Jiaozhou (Chinese: 交州) is an ancient Chinese region. The territory defined by the region has been changed in different eras. Normally included modern North Vietnam and parts of Guangxi.
Han Dynasty
In 111 BC, Emperor Wu of Han conquered the kingdom of Nanyue and created the Jiaozhou region with nine comentries assigned to it: Nanhai, Cangwu, Yulin, Jiaozhi, Hepu, Rinan (Chinese: 日南), Zhuyai (Chinese: 珠崖), Tanerh (Chinese: 儋耳), and Jiuzhen (Chinese: 九真).[1]
