Jerome Van Sistine

Jerome Van Sistine is a former member of the Wisconsin State Senate.

Biography

Van Sistine was born on August 16, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.[1] He graduated from West De Pere High School in De Pere, Wisconsin, as well as the University of Wisconsin–Platteville. During World War II, Van Sistine served in the United States Navy. He is married with three children.[2]

Political career

Van Sistine was first elected to the Senate in 1976, representing the 30th district. Additionally, he was a member of the Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin Board and the Brown County, Wisconsin Board. In 1990, Van Sistine was a candidate for the United States House of Representatives from Wisconsin's 8th congressional district.[3] He lost to incumbent Toby Roth. Van Sistine was defeated for re-election in 1992 by Gary Drzewiecki. He is a Democrat.
