Jason Michael Wade (born July 5, 1980 in Camarillo, California) is the lead vocalist, main songwriter, and guitarist of the American alternative rock band Lifehouse.

Personal life

Wade never had any formal musical training or lessons and taught himself how to play guitar around the age of 14. He was born July 5, 1980 in Camarillo, California and his family traveled and moved internationally as a result of their work as Christian missionaries. He and his family (one older sister, Jamie) traveled to Japan, Hawaii, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong (where he attended Hong Kong International School), then eventually returned to the U.S. to live in (Portland, Oregon). His father worked as a marriage counselor and Wade was home schooled while growing up. Early in his musical life he performed during services for the youth group at Malibu Vineyard church in California. He now resides in California.

Wade's parents divorced when he was 12, and he moved with his mother and sister to Port Orchard, Washington. Around this time he began teaching himself how to play guitar, and began writing his own music and lyrics.[citation needed] Several years later, Jason and his mother relocated to Los Angeles, where he co-founded his first band Lifehouse (originally called Blyss) with his next door neighbor and a friend. Lifehouse has now sold more than 15 million singles and albums worldwide.

Wade married his girlfriend Braeden in Santa Monica, California on January 20, 2001.[1]

After Wade moved to Los Angeles, he met bassist Sergio Andrade and began his songwriting career. This partnership was the early phase of the formation of Lifehouse, which, after a deal with DreamWorks Records, made them more notable with their first release, No Name Face, which was followed by the album Stanley Climbfall in 2002.

In 2005 the band recorded the album Lifehouse in the Ironworks recording studio owned by musician Jude Cole and actor Kiefer Sutherland. A digital download of the album's first single "You and Me" was RIAA certified gold by the RIAA. In two months, "You and Me" sold over 100,000 downloads.[citation needed]

Subsequent albums released by Lifehouse are: Who We Are in 2007, and Smoke & Mirrors in 2010.

Lifehouse's 6th album, entitled "Almeria" was released on December 11, 2012. The first single from the album is entitled "Between The Raindrops" and features Natasha Bedingfield.
