Jason "JR" Reed (also known by the name of his signature character, Lee), is an American actor and musician, originally from Corvallis, Oregon. He grew up in Las Vegas, NV where he graduated from Bonanza High School. He is best known for his association with the comedy rock band Tenacious D.[1]

Tenacious D

J.R. Reed first met Tenacious D at the Actors Gang in Los Angeles. His first on-screen appearance with the duo is when he played the character Lee in Tenacious D's television series and is first seen in The Fan. A couple of years later, he appears in the Tribute music video as a shopping mall security officer. Tenacious D's debut album contains a song called "Lee", about him and his relationship with the band.

He next appears in the motion picture Tenacious D in: The Pick Of Destiny playing himself once again. He is featured on the soundtrack for the film in a skit after the track 'The Government Totally Sucks'. He also featured in 'Time Fixers', a promotional video for the movie, as the 'Time Goblin'. The world tour for the movie features Reed playing Satan, The Metal and other various roles. Whilst on tour, Reed appeared onstage with the band on the December 2, 2006 episode of Saturday Night Live. He also appeared at the Blizzcon 2010 closing ceremony alongside Tenacious D.

Reed also performed in the now defunct band Trainwreck along with Tenacious D guitarist Kyle Gass. Reed was lead-vocals for the band. Trainwreck started in 2002 and then ended in 2010. The band has five releases.
