The duo were the winners of three Sony Radio Academy Awards in 2005; a Gold for 'Breakfast Show Of The Year' and a Silver for 'Entertainment Show'. The pair later moved across the Pennines, up the M62 to another station in the Emap group, Key 103 in Manchester.
The pair presented the coveted UK Top 40 show and early breakfast slot (Mon - Thurs) on BBC Radio 1 from March 2005 to October 2007, but left the station on 11 October 2007 to concentrate on TV work, although they did have a spell presenting weekend breakfast on Virgin Radio.
He continued to work with Joel Ross, presenting 96.3 Radio Aire breakfast slot, JK and Joel at Breakfast. He also presented JK and Joel's Saturday Night Thing on some Bauer Place stations until July 2011.

Since 23 January 2012 he co-presents Heart Breakfast alongside Lucy Horobin on Heart Solent.[1] On 4 August 2012 he begun co-presenting Saturday breakfast alongside Horobin across the Heart Network.[2] From 13 until 29 August 2012 he and Horobin presented Heart Breakfast on Heart London, in the absence of Harriet Scott and Jamie Theakston, meaning they were absent from their usual show on Heart Solent. In 2013 JK along with his co-host Lucy moved to Heart London to present weekday drivetime.
