Jani Tapani Virtanen (born 6 May 1988, Turku, Finland) is a professional Finnish footballer, he is currently playing for RoPS.

Career

Virtanen played with Turun Palloseura in Finnish Veikkausliiga 2004–2006. He transferred to Udinese in summer 2006, at age of 18, signed a 5-year contract.

On 23 December 2006 Virtanen became the fifth Finnish player ever to play in Serie A, when he was substituted in for the last 3 minutes against AC Milan. Virtanen has also two Finnish teammates at Udinese, Roman Eremenko and Jarkko Hurme.

In summer 2008 he was loaned to Sorrento then FC Khimki.

In January 2010, he signed a 2-year contract with FC TPS.[1]

In July 2010, he signed a 2,5-year contract with JJK Jyväskylä.[2]

In November 2013, he signed a 1-year contract with RoPS. [3]
