Jamie Borthwick (born 23 June 1994, Barking)[citation needed] is an English actor.

Career

Borthwick portrays Jay Mitchell in EastEnders, though his first appearance on mainstream television was as an orphan in the Celebrate 'Oliver!' musical alongside Shane Richie and Joseph McManners. In late 2006 Jamie had a one-off role in Not Going Out.

He also appeared in the "Life In The Underpass" episode of Gina's Laughing Gear, and he was signed up to EastEnders shortly after completing filming on this project. His first appearance on EastEnders occurred on 14 December 2006 and was made a regular mid-2007.

His interests include boxing. He carried Kevin Mitchell's championship belt into the ring prior to a bout in July 2007. [1]

Borthwick won the award for 'Best Dramatic Performance From a Young Actor or Actress' at the 2008 British Soap Awards and dedicated it to his deceased grandmother.[2]

Borthwick visited children at Little Havens children’s hospice to present a cheque to help pay for local youngsters’ care.[3]
