James Michael Vincent (born 27 September 1989) is an English footballer who plays for Inverness Caledonian Thistle as a midfielder.
Career
Stockport County
Born in Glossop, Derbyshire,[4] Vincent joined Stockport County aged just eight.[4] In 2005, he joined the Centre of Excellence youth system at Stockport, before making his first team debut just two years later as a substitute in a 1–0 win over Brentford on the last day of the 2007–08 season.[5]
In the 2008–09 season, he became more regular and he scored his first goal for the club on 18 November 2008 in a 5–0 win over Yeovil Town in the FA Cup.[6] He scored his first league goal, on 10 March 2009, in a 2-1 win over Hartlepool United.[7] After the match, Manager Jim Gannon would says Vincent, one of the three players, are fantastic players.[8] Vincent scored his second league goal, on 24 April 2009, in a 4-1 win against Crewe.[9]
In May 2011, he was informed that he would not be offered a contract by the club for the 2011–12 season.[10]
Kidderminster Harriers
In June 2011, he joined Conference National outfit Kidderminster Harriers on a one-year contract.[4] Vincent made his debut, in the opening game of the season, in a 3-2 loss against Gateshead[11] and scored his first goal, in a 3-1 win over Alfreton Town on 17 September 2011.[12] Vincent, then, scored twice, in a 5-4 win over Braintree Town on 18 October 2011.[13]
On 29 May 2012, he signed a new one-year contract with the club.[14]
Inverness Caledonian Thistle
In June 2013, Vincent signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle of the SPL on an initial one year contract.[15]
Vincent scored on his debut, in the opening game of the season, a 3-0 win over St. Mirren.[16] After his debut, Vincent stated that he believed his move to Inverness was a "step up in my career."[17]
International career
In August 2012, Vincent was called up by England 'C'.[18]
In September 2013, Vincent was monitored by Northern Ireland Manager Michael O'Neill over his eligibility to play for Northern Ireland.[19]
