James P. Kelley

James P. Kelley is President and partner of Vestar Capital Partners, along with Robert L. Rosner and Daniel O'Сonnell. Vestar today is a $7 billion private equity firm concentrating its investments in management buyouts, growth capital, and recapitalisations. Prior to the founding of Vestar in 1988, he was a senior executive with the Management Buyout Group of First Boston Corporation. Kelley has also practiced law with a leading Colorado law firm.
He is an advisory board member of the Yale School of Management and a trustee of the Denver Art Museum and the Colorado Conservation Trust.
Education
Kelley holds an M.B.A. from Yale School of Management, a J.D. from University of Notre Dame, and a B.S. from University of Northern Colorado.
