James Lawrence (cricketer)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

James Lawrence (born November 29, 1976 in Portsmouth) was an English cricketer.[1] He was a right-handed batsman and a left-handed medium-fast bowler who played first-class cricket for Durham in 1995.

Lawrence represented Durham for the first time in one match, during the 1995 County Championship. Over the following four years, Lawrence played in the Oxford and Cambridge Finals, as well as three consecutive finals in the Halifax British Universities Sports Association Championship, two of which were won by his Durham University team.

Lawrence also took part in the B&H Cup competition of 1998, before making his final first-class appearance for the British Universities cricket team. Lawrence was a tailending batsman and a frequent, if sometimes expensive, bowler for the teams for whom he played.
