James Mitchell Johnston (born c.1991) is a singer from Wingham, New South Wales. He was a part of StarStruck, an annual youth talent event presented by the Hunter-Central Coast School Region, for seven years running. Johnston was a finalist in the 2009 series of Australian Idol, placing third. He prefers the acoustic/men/rock style of music and his biggest influences are Jack Johnson and John Mayer.

Early life

James Johnston was born on 26 November 1990. He has shown his talent by performing in the past two Wingham Akoostic Music festivals and Star Struck.

Australian Idol 2009

During his time in Australia, Idol James Johnston has been guided by many recognised artists such as, Joel Madden, Benji Madden, Michael Bublé, Liza Minnelli, Harry Connick Jr and Pete Wentz.[citation needed]As well as the three idol judges which helped him in his idol journey.
